Prime summer transfer rumours

Mellors set to join Valour

It is the time of the year that transfer rumours always start and the first of these seems to be that classy midfielder Barney Mellors is set to join rivals AFC Valour.

Mellors has made 37 appearances for The Numbers, scoring 9 goals, but has told manager Goldsmith that he wants to play at a higher level.

Goldsmith is keen to talk him into staying at Bayham, especially with the retirement of Goulding and Skovborg-Hansen's likely defection to chase egg-shaped balls in Blackheath.

Other players set to depart are rumoured to be Sankey, Tom Matthews and keeper Gary Latter who lost his first team place to Lewis Kerton towards the end of the season.

It is not all bad news though for Prime as Goldsmith has several transfer targets including bringing Matt Leaver back to add competition in both defence and midfield.

The gaffer is also keen to secure the prolific Dan Webb for a full season to compete with fit-again Carl Barker, Joe Walker and Rich Excell for a place up front.

Michal Maszka - the tricky Polish winger - is likely to make a return and Goldsmith will hope to have the services of both Jamie Barker and David Ellis after both were ruled out with long term injuries this season.

Goldsmith is also eyeing an audacious bid to bring Crowborough's Alex Bishop to Bayham, along with an unnamed High Brooms Casuals player.
