Unlucky 13 For Prime

Ashton Prime 1-13 Rusthall IV

A terrible match for Ashton Prime ended with a humiliating 13-1 defeat at the hands of Rusthall IV.

Prime started with new boys Ryall and Maynard in midfield, but soon found themselves 1-0 down.

But Prime's response was positive and Goldsmith's overhead flick released Jagniaszek who out-paced the defence and finished coolly.

This boosted Prime and they forced a flurry of corners as they threatened to take the lead.

But 3 Rusthall goals in quick succession took the game away from Prime - who then suffered another injury blow.

As acting captain Bendall raced through onto a long-ball the last defender challenged him and left Bendall clutching his shoulder in agony. X-rays later confirmed a broken collarbone that will keep the midfielder out until 2007.

In the remaining minutes of the half a dis-jointed Prime conceded 2 more goals to go in 6-1 down.

Walter had replaced the stricken Bendall and at half-time Whiting replaced the scorer Jagniaszek who suffered a foot injury.

Rusthall contined to dominate and added goals at will after the break.

Goldsmith's late lunge on the Rusthall right-winger earned him a booking in a fiesty 10 minute period where the Rusthall supporters showed off their lack of brainpower by barracking the home team.

Quote of the Match: Rusthall pikey - "What's the score mate?"
